I figured I should probably share a better picture of our starbutt, so yanno. Butty! Lit! Party! Z’s mom was around briefly for a coffee, and she was suitably amused by our very us decoration (and only minorly surprised I was not the architect of the idea or construction). Not much to report on today. I’ve been dealing with the… Read more »

Between the minds of Z and Smalls, stuff happened, and now we have a butt in place of a star at the top of our Christmas tree. Ngl, I love it too. It’s very us. Z’s dad remains in hospital, which… well. We’re gonna take the days as they come, and he was with it enough to call and touch… Read more »

So, Smaller was off school Thursday and Friday because of a snotty head cold. Apparently, it’s my turn now. I’ve been a bit snotty, but in a no big deal way the last couple of days. I woke up this morning to a scritchy throat and just like… feeling like I’m drowning in boogers even if nothing is particularly coming… Read more »

After what feels like forever, I’ve picked my knitting up again. I’ve gotten past the cuff on this second sock, which means that things are less tedious and easier to just… do. Having said that, I put it off for a bit doing a bit of sewing up (hearts for my Etsy customers), and still feel at loose ends. I… Read more »

Today was another singularly unproductive day, but eh. So it sometimes goes. At least we have news that Z’s dad should be getting close to getting sent home. The folx at the hospital have been working on getting him to understand that he needs to actually yanno, be a grown up and do things like get his own breakfast, and… Read more »

Z and I managed to get some Christmas shopping done last night, which was a relief. The knock-on has been that I’ve feeling feeling vaguely organised, and even managed to drag myself through water in a bathing way. I am… such a cat about getting wet, ha ha. So yeah, feeling upbeat. Add in managing to design what seems to… Read more »

I’ve had in my head for a couple of days, or maybe weeks, that I wanted to try my hand at some multi-stranded necklaces. I’m super-chuffed that my first effort actually came out pretty much spot on. I’d initially wanted to do a full rainbow… but that would be too much. A friend suggested doing a rainbow across the three,… Read more »

I made good on my plans to get the table cleared, so Z get the tree built and ready for the girls. Smalls was down at the village hall playing basketball with her bestie, so Smaller had to wait for a bit. But they got stuck in and got it done, so yanno, sorted. Now I guess I have to… Read more »

Before the whole hospital factor came into play, Z and I had planned to order from the chippy tonight, and to invite his parents to place an order with. We were still planning to order, so I suggested that we see if Mum wanted company for dinner. She did! So we’ve come around to eat, and chat, and generally hang… Read more »

We had a call this morning from Mum, telling us that Z’s dad was back in hospital… colour none of us surprised. Still, don’t know whether it was shell-shock or what, but Mum seemed to be handling it fairly well. As she said to us, and to D — someone else taking the weight of this off of her is… Read more »
