It Finally Happened

Yes dears, we finally got a bit of snow. It even stuck for a little bit before the sun came out and blasted it away. It was pure bliss to watch — there were some huge fluffy flakes being blown all around swirly, which makes for great entertainment. I’m glad I got to see it at least once this winter; I’m certainly not counting on being able to see it again.

Littlerbit’s first time experiencing snow

Past that, it’s been workety work work (which went well), and figuring out what to do with my laptop. Z popped into the repair shop in town for a quote, and they’ll do the thermal paste for £30, and a full inspection/MOT for £65, which includes fresh paste as well. We’re going to go for that option, and are already half-way prepared for the probability that the graphics card is going to need replacing. Again. They won’t put in any parts without checking with us first, so maybe I’m being pessimistic. On the other hand, and I said to Z, if it DOES need a new GPU *again*, then at least we might be able to upgrade it slightly rather than going with a like-for-like, as was the free replacement under warranty. We’ll see. And by using the shop in town, I’m only without it for a day or two, rather than the couple of weeks it ended up being when we sent it back to PC Specialist. Don’t get me wrong, we love PC Specialist here, but it was really annoying to be without for that long, even if I do have a desktop as well!

*yawns* Right so, back to ‘important’ things. That being pottering around in Don’t Starve, and trying to get a Shiny in Pokémon. I spent two days trying to get one only to see the counter tick over to 256 (boo). I’m trying for a different Pokémon and hoping to get it sooner rather than later, but we’ll see. I might have to take a few days off of Shiny hunting because it has been a bad luck prospect this week.
