Spite Wool

I feel like I have spent the bulk of today attempting to organise wool. Namely, that ball of red wool. That was supposed to be a skein. Yeaaah. Three attempts to end up with a tidy skein and I threw in the towel and settled for winding it old school. So yeah, I’ve not gotten as much knitting done as I wanted to, but at least all this sort of wool is prepared for my blanket square bonanza-ing.

Current square in progress

At the suggestion of someone in my Stitch ‘n Bitch group, I decided to check on eBay for sock circular needles before buying a kit. I ordered a 3.25mm with the intent to use up some old King Cole Zig-Zag; I wanted to test with something I don’t mind messing up before using my gorgeous SweetGeorgia. After all, I don’t know if I’m going to like doing socks on tiny circulars, or if I should give into magic loop rather than DPNs. Like, I do pretty well with DPNs, but I still find them fiddly and and annoying, so. We’ll see how it goes. And really, if I DO like the short circulars, I can buy a lot more off of eBay new and in the original wrapper than if I’d bought the six-needle set I’d been ogling on Amazon, so.

Otherwise, my day has been filled with Don’t Starve. I’ve died. A lot. But I’ve levelled up and unlocked the first four characters, and am rather close to unlocking the fifth. Having said that, I hope I don’t do it sooner rather than later. I’d love to see myself make it three weeks! I’ll get there eventually, and as Z pointed out (as he’s getting into it as well) — we both have access to Don’t Starve Together via Steam, so we can maybe actually game together-together. It’s really rare that we’re playing the same game, so.

For now though, we’re going to *le gasp* attempt to watch some telly and chill out.
