A Different Place

We had our first session with the declutterer today, starting in the kitchen. She originally estimated that it would take 12 hours; we had it pretty much knocked on its head in 4. So that was exciting. We were on the same page as her with pretty much everything, so were able to make the aforementioned amazing progress. She said that it often takes a session or two to get people in the right frame of mind for the task; we were already in the right frame of mind. I don’t know when she’ll be able to squeeze us in again, but it’s not the most urgent of things either. The next thing that we’d like help tackling is the cupboards in the hallway, and since that’s not stuff flowing across the house, it’s okay if we have to wait until after Christmas. In the interim, we’ll get the kitchen cleaning done. We’ll continue chipping at the study, and finding new ways to organise what we have with the new storage that’s coming in.

So yeah. Gold star for us, y’all. I look forward (?) to getting the last bits of cleaning done in there for the interim. Having said that, the temptation to hire a deep cleaner… hrm…

But mainly y’all… we did it. It’s the weekend. We made it somehow. I am going to do as little as humanly possible to an even higher level this weekend. I neeeeeed it.
