When I got my new laptop, it was my full intent to take the old one and clean it up to hand down to Smaller. She has a laptop, and it’s newer and has an SSD drive, but we think my old one will run games faster and better for her. She’ll probably be getting a better specc’d up one from her grandparents for her birthday next year, but anyways. We’ll see what happens. And whatever the case, it means we have a backup computer in case of emergencies! Sure, it doesn’t close properly anymore… but doesn’t mean that it’s useless either.

We had an unexpected adventure today. Z’s parent’s neighbour includes a nurse, and she called the surgery to get them to actually yanno, connect with my in-laws. She ended up talking to the doctor who seems to call an ambulance for *EVERYONE* she sees, so one was summoned to visit and make sure Z’s dad was okay. They were there for a good long while observing him, and bemusingly, his oxygen level readings went well to the good because he was, le gasp, actually sitting up and talking. One of the ambulance crew gave Z’s mom the number for the respiratory folx at the hospital if she needed to push the envelope a bit to see about getting him prescribed some oxygen for home, but yeah. That was an unexpected going to visit for a bit. Mum felt bad ’cause we pretty much dropped everything to come over, and because she had ‘made a fuss’. We assured her that we were happy to be there for her/them, the bit about the doctor, and that the ambulance team was paid for by our taxes, and that there’s nothing wrong with them having come to make very sure that Z’s dad was okay. I also pointed out for lulz that the ambulance was called twice when I was giving birth to Smalls, ’cause they thought I was gonna need an instrumental delivery (I didn’t, but I still needed a lift afterwards to get an episiotomy sewn up).

Right, back to making thinnnnnngs and waiting for laptop to finish its hours-long cleansing reinstall process. Holla.
