Lapping It Up

Even though she, technically, is too big to curl up in my lap, Smaller still finds ways. I’m not complaining per se; it can only last so much longer. However, when she keeps camping out and I’m trying to work… well. In the proper child fashion, she lost interest around the time I decided I was done working for the day, ha ha.

But hey, it’s the last day of the Christmas break, so I did my best to accommodate her snuggly ways. I even felt a sentimental pang in my blackened little heart about how my ‘baby’ is so not a baby. We’re not going to (or able to, bliss) have any further children, but sometimes for a second, the tininess and wonder is missed. Still, my growing children are amazing humans and I am super glad to know them, even when they get on my tits.

Like earlier.

S’okay so, I probably mentioned the other week that I thought Batman had gotten out. And then I spent hours looking, only for the bastard to be napping in a new hiding space. The whole thing resolved before the kids were picked up from school, so we didn’t tell them. So when we realised earlier that the front door had been left open for like, 20 minutes because Smalls didn’t close it correctly… hooboy. tl;dr, Batman was napping under Z’s dresser, but I was nooot happy and made it very clear to her that I wasn’t. I did explain that me having to go through that twice in one month meant that my response was probably seemingly disproportionate, though maybe it wasn’t. She appreciated the clarification though, and we had a good talk about it. And in future, she’ll remember how to do the door latch properly. She’s a good kid, and she does her best, and I make sure to validate that as much as possible.

Right, gonna return to getting my game on, and maybe looking at my knitting. I made good progress last night in spite of my excite of someone finally making their group debut. But then, I do do my best and fastest knitting when chatting, so.
