Smoke and

Z’s phone rang from his pocket while he was covered in meat juices prepping dinner. It was our neighbour letting us know that they were going to shoot off some fireworks tonight, in a combination of ‘warning you for the sake of your cats’ (our cats are weirdly chill about fireworks), and just generally inviting us to stand in the back garden and join them in watching shininess. We managed to get in dinner and a visit from the Covid man before that, so it was a bit of an all out evening. The fireworks were nice; you can buy heftier stuff to shoot off at home than I saw in any state I lived in before moving here.

For now, being sleepy and taking a break from drilling. I really like this soft aluminium for its foldability, and so I’m using it to make some stitch markers. I figure at that scale, it’s less likely to warp. It’s held up on bigger builds in testing so far the last couple of days, which is sort of surprising to me. Like, I know it’s a good material, but in my head it’s so soft and easy to manipulate that it doesn’t feel like it should be holding its shape so well.

*yawns* Right, back to that for a wee bit. Bedtime is near, aww yiss.
