Tick Tick Tick

tb2lbd_wI survived today, so have a picture of Smallhausen’s new reading timer. It was a pretty good day all told, never mind I woke up in a lot of pain from sleeping in the wrong bed and getting my head all janked around. I woke up having a big pile of things that needed to go through the wash because oh hey, kids and lice. I spent the whole day scratching and fretting because maybe I had it too.

Still? I’d call it a pretty good day. I messed up a little bit on work-work and will owe a co-worker an apology, but I think he’ll forgive me. After all, I still got things done that needed doing and in a decent quantity. I remembered to feed myself in addition to the little one. I did get the laundry pushed along some, and Z continued the good work after he got home. I found almost nothing in the way of lice on the girls; I found three nits and a couple of eggs yesterday, and like, -an- egg and -a- nit today. I’ll keep checking them for the next week, but I’m ridiculously relieved that we caught it so early.

I would also call it a good day because I felt happy and satisfied.  I’m always the slightest bit wary when I’m feeling proper golden good because it could be an episode of hypomania, but I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth either. I instead choose to see it as a sign that things are mainly stable, stable enough that I can actually vaguely relax and let life come at me as it will.

Also in letting the good things come:

4chan Is On Death’s Door & That’s A Win For Feminism

In spite of having been online for some time longer than 4chan’s lifespan (we’re talking late 80s/early 90s for me), I have mainly managed to avoid it and its denizens. Oh, I did have a few younger friends from KoL who were b/tards, but they’ve since grown out of it and become fine human beings. And even then, that was like, a decade ago. Things were stupid then, but not flat-out dangerous like now. So I guess we’ll see what happens, outside of the inevitable man-baby hissyfits.

Anyhoos, I am going to go enjoy what’s left of my evening now, ’cause we were flailing until bedtime last time trying to get things in order. Curling up with my knitting and catching up on our tv shows sounds ideal to me!
