Ready to Party

One of Smaller’s classmates had a birthday party today, so this was prepping the card. She drew a little picture of a person with, I think, a magic wand, and then finished up with her signature. She’s been able to sign her name for ages now, but it’s finally starting to look like a signature rather than an abstract shape. She had a lovely time, and Z knew people to chat to as well. So that’s nice.

Smalls and I stayed behind. Smalls kept thinking she was hearing her sister speaking, so she ended up coming in here to feel safer by being in the same room as me (though honestly, she was closer at her desk in the other room, but anyways!). I think it was a combination of whatever she was hearing on her headphones with the music I had playing in here, while Z later speculated that perhaps she could hear another kid down the street through the cracked window behind her. Whatever the case, I made sure to go give her a few cuddles and to assure her that nothing scary was going on.

As for me, I’ve been curled up doing the gaming thing, and the knitting thing. I finished the heel of my sock and am working down the foot part now. I feel like I have turned a corner, har har har. I mean, it’s probably more like halfway done, but it always feels like a downward slope after the heel is done.

Right, I’m off. Have a good evening, y’all.
